The Portland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated invites you to attend the 38th Women of Excellence Awards and Scholarship Reception to honor outstanding women from Portland/SW Washington who are accomplished in areas surrounding the sorority’s programmatic initiatives.

During the Women of Excellence reception, Portland Alumnae’s scholarship committee, together with Piedmont Rose Connection, Inc., will present the 2019 scholarship award recipients. Awardees are selected by first submitting a completed application and meeting all of the application requirements, including enrollment in a four-year college or university in the fall of 2019.
This year's celebration theme is “Jazzin’ It Up! ” Please join us for a reception to support our scholarship fund, featuring jazz music and hors d’oeuvres, along with our illustrious guest speaker, Dr. Keith Dempsey.

Dr. Keith Dempsey is currently the Department Chair of the Graduate School of Counseling at George Fox University, becoming the first African American to receive tenure at the Institution.
Dr. Dempsey has 20+ years of professional experience in the helping field. He served as a multi-systemic therapist, a clinical social worker, and later went on to develop substantial programs at the African American Health Coalition (AAHC) designed to combat physical and mental health disparities. He currently operates a private practice in Portland and conducts individual, couple & family therapy.
